UNIV 288C: Global Communities Colloquium III: Researching Society and Culture

This course is one of two course options for students in the third semester of Global Communities. The other option is Global Communities Colloquium III: Service-Learning.

We learn about global society and culture through experience and study. This colloquium has two key goals: 1) to discover and understand some of the research conducted about global society and culture and 2) to learn basic research methodology, how to define a research question, and how to develop and present a research proposal. Through this process, the colloquium allows you to decide on a research question that is of interest to you and to research it with the assistance of the instructor and/or subject matter experts on campus. The colloquium uses guest speakers, lecture and discussion.
