289A: Global Communities Colloquium IV: Becoming a Professional
in a Global Society

This
colloquium serves as the capstone in the Global Communities
Program. Building on the past three semesters, participants
will develop their resumes, build career and professional
knowledge and goals, hone their interviewing skills, and
finalize their portfolio project. The goal of the colloquium
is to foster a greater understanding of the global and internationalized
workplace, what it means and how best to ready oneself for
successful participation.
During this semester students:
- Develop
a professional portfolio and explore career options
- Conduct
and document an informational interview.
- Enhance
and professionalize their resume.
- Write
an essay concerning the internationalization of the workplace.
- Attend
an international career panel or topical event related
to their field.
